St Augustine’s Golf Course the Jewel in the crown,as far as the Golf Courses in the very corner of the South East of England are concerned, it was first laid in 1907 and opened by the famous Tom Vardon.

St. Augustines is named after the missionary who landed in England to convert the Saxons to Christianity in AD 597.

A cross stands adjoining the Golf Club to mark the spot of St. Augustine’s landing.Adjoining the seventeenth fairway is the famous St Augustine’s Well from which it is said fresh water was drawn.

Although St. Augustine’s is not a Championship Course the pleasure achieved by playing makes it a very popular venue for the club golfer.
